In addition to car parks, the centre of Tampere has approximately 4,000 parking spaces for short-term street-side parking and on parking areas. These are subject to a charge, and the maximum parking time is 1–4 hours, depending on the area. Longer periods are possible a little farther off.

The monitoring of street-side parking and the administering of parking fines are the duties of the Tampere City Parking Control .
